  • KOCIC is a virtual organization, coordinating the work of individuals from member associations and their member companies.
  • KOCIC Committee includes 2 different groups; Chemical Policy & Health (CP&HI) Committee and Energy Climate Change (E&CC) Committee, for which major member organizations take the administrative jobs according to the nature of each working group's work.
  • Each working group participates in meetings or activities organized by ICCA and serves as the focal point by transmitting Korean chemical industry’s views on major issues facing global chemical industry.
Chemical Policy & Health. CP&H Committee
  • Increasing public concern about the health and safety of chemical products and their effect on the environment has motivated our industry into providing more information about the substances we produce.
  • Industry's commitment to health, safety and environmental performance, to improved chemicals management, and to increased transparency is dearly embodied in the following initiatives;
    - Participates in meetings or activities organized by ICCA CP&H Leadership Group and tries to transmit Korean chemical industry's views on major issues
    - Providing Korean chemical industry with the information on the environment, safety & health-related improvements of foreign countries and countermeasures against chemical regulations.
    - Launched Global Product Strategy (GPS) in Korea as followed by ICCA, in order to advance the product stewardship performance of individual companies and the global chemical industry as a whole.
Energy & Climate Change, E&CC Committee
  • Korean chemical companies are improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas intensity in their own facilities.
  • KOCIC E&CC Committee is a leader in the industry through energy consumption reduction and greenhouse gas emissions with the following ongoing activities:
    - Advocacy activities
    - Low-carbon Green Growth Policy
    - Domestic carbon market construction
    - Promotion of scientific research for responding system and logic development
    - Development of greenhouse gas inventory guidelines
    - Research on computation methodology for emissions in IPCC industrial process sector
    - Industry's collaborative response related to the establishment of the low-carbon green growth legislation
    - Establishment of the foundation for responding to climate change
    - Improvement of network and cooperative channel
    - Development of energy & greenhouse gas emission statistics and management system
    - Training workshop
    - Provision for reflecting chemical industry's position on policies through the relationship with global chemical industry using ICCA network
